Review of an eventful year - growing membership numbers, solid foundation
2024 looks set to go down as a remarkably special year in the history of South Tyrolean Haflinger breeding: Marking the 150th anniversary of the breed, the Haflinger Festival in Sluderno/Schluderns – the birthplace of 249 Folie – and along with it the South Tyrol Haflinger County Show had an enormous appeal and generated widespread enthusiasm and motivation. Similarly, the European Haflinger Championships, held once more at the tried-and-tested venue of Stadl-Paura, contributed significantly to successfully positioning the breed in equestrian sports.
But the General Assembly focused not just on large-scale events – its attendees are sure to also remember some other special and at times perhaps rather emotional moments: Erika Felderer and Michael Gruber received praise and thanks for their long-standing efforts the Federation, while Andrea Aster passed on her crown to Sandra Robatscher after seven years of tireless commitment as a Haflinger Ambassador.
In short, a year bursting with highlights that strengthened the community and further consolidated the future of the Haflinger!
